Dial it Up!
The headline in today’s news stated that Tim Tebow, quarterback for the Denver Broncos, should dial down the faith. My questions is, “What has the young man done that seems to upset so many people in the world today?”
A few weeks ago the headlines were all about “tebowing.” Apparently in one game when Tim Tebow would get tackled by the opposing team several of them would get on a knee and pretend to be praying; “tebowing.” I heard that Tim Tebow didn’t say a word and when asked it was a non-issue for him.
Several weeks’ later fans show up at a game wearing Denver Bronco jerseys with Tim Tebow’s number and the name “Jesus” on the back. Are people upset that the name of Jesus is getting some air time?
I spent several years on active duty in the military and was stationed during some of the time at Fort Hood Texas. There was a guy in my unit who was a follower of Jesus Christ and on a few occasions he and I would stand outside the Motor Pool and share our faith in Jesus Christ with each other loud enough for others to hear. For the Christian it is important that their faith is lived out everywhere they go. I didn’t apologize for sharing my faith and I didn’t feel the need to “Dial it Down” just because someone thought I was going overboard with it. How can you go overboard about the love of Jesus?
Col 1:13-14
13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

I have been rescued from the dominion of darkness and brought into His kingdom redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, my sins have been forgiven. Dial it down; no way I need to dial it up. THANK YOU JESUS!
It was not uncommon for the First Sergeant of that unit I was in at Fort Hood Texas to ask people; when he was looking for me, “Where is Jesus today?” At first I was upset that he would call me Jesus, but then I realized that Christ in me is the hope of glory.
Tim Tebow you don’t know me, but I would like for you to know that I am so very proud of you young man! Dial it down? Don’t pay any attention to that sir, you keep thanking Jesus every chance you get. Dial it up!
